Pre-op and PACU experience
Triage experience
Resuscitation of newborns
Pitocin management
Epidural management

Description:
The RN in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients.
The facility is licensed for 457 beds and has a level 3 trauma designation.
It is recognized as a center of excellence for stroke, bariatric care, and chest pain.
The unit consists of 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms.
The average daily census is 9-10 patients.
The patient demographics include high-risk antepartum and immediate postpartum care.
The staffing ratio for laboring patients is 1:1 to 1:2.
The team includes charge nurse support, hospitalist, intensivist, OB physicians, and an anesthesia team available 24/7.
In-house resources such as secretarial support, phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, and respiratory therapy are available.
Technology and equipment include an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and monitoring equipment.
Travelers may be required to float to different facilities in the region as needed.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Request time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays, with adjustments to contract duration if necessary.
