Description:
The position requires a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery specialty.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
First-time travelers are accepted with the required experience.
The nurse will have an on-call requirement of 12 hours every two weeks.
Weekend shifts will be required, 2-4 shifts per month, which can be grouped for two full weekends off.
The float requirement includes lateral floating to sister units.
The nurse will be a part of a team with a patient ratio of 1:2.
Scrubs will be provided for the nurse.
Patient diagnoses include vaginal delivery, cesarean section, pre-eclampsia, hypertension, prolapsed cord, abruption, diabetes, and gestational diabetes.
Special procedures in this unit encompass D&C, tubal ligation, amniocentesis, epidural/spinal, Jada, and shoulder dystocia positions.
The unit is equipped with specialized equipment such as JADA, Alaris pumps, birthing beds, fetal monitors, periwatch, and ultrasound machines.
Orientation will be 8 hours and is non-billable.
References are not required for submission, but two manager/supervisor references will be required for clearance to start the contract.
Candidates who have worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from their previous employment for one full year to be eligible.
