Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum 2 years in CVICU/CTICU required; travel experience preferred
License: Virginia or Compact License required at the time of submission
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required via American Heart Association

Must-Have:
Candidates must have experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs.
Candidates must be proficient in continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration.
Candidates must have experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Strong neuro experience is required for patients post-brain surgery and those with external ventricular drains.
Candidates must possess skills in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias.
Experience with multi-system organ failure, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump, and Impella is essential.
Candidates must have experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, both those directly from the operating room and those not.
Experience with pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring and administration of IV insulin protocols is required.
Candidates should be familiar with continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
Experience with managing acute strokes and assisting with BiPAP, CPAP, and care of ventilated patients is necessary.
Candidates must be able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and perform suctioning.
Skills in infection prevention and isolation precautions, as well as the care of surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs are required.
Candidates should have experience with thermoregulation, chronic/acute renal failure, accessing ports, and external ventricular drains.
Experience in intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring is preferred.

Description:
Situated in a beautiful area known for outdoor adventures.
The position involves caring for patients in a Cardio Thoracic ICU setting.
Candidates will also care for step-down patients due to the universal bed model.
Nights involve a schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekdays, every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract.
Candidates will manage post-operative adult patients with conditions such as acute coronary syndrome and heart failure.
The unit utilizes a universal bed model, allowing for flexibility in patient care.
A ratio of 1:1 is maintained for optimal patient management.
Proficiency in electronic health records is required.
Candidates should have no history of fit test issues, as the facility cannot accommodate certain testing methods.
