Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Profession: Nursing

Shift: Night

Hours per Shift: 12 hours

Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience

License: RN License required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association)

Must-Have:
– Certifications in ACLS and BLS must be current.
– Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
– Willingness to care for pediatric/adolescent patients when necessary.

Description:
Critical care registered nurses provide care in settings where patients have suffered from severe medical issues like heart attacks, strokes, or severe trauma.
Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, planning and implementing care plans, and treating wounds.
Advanced life support and assistance in medical procedures are part of the role.
Observing and recording patient vital signs is essential.
Ensuring the proper functioning of ventilators and medical equipment requires attention.
Administering intravenous fluids and medications is required.
Suctioning and other critical tasks are necessary to maintain patient health.
Collaboration with the critical care team is important for patient outcomes.
Responding to life-saving situations using nursing standards is essential.
Acting as a patient advocate and providing education and support to families is part of the job.
Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.
Participation in administrative duties or policy making may be required.

Note: Floating to other units may be necessary.
