Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required
License: Active Registered Nurse License required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Recent ICU experience including neuro or cardiovascular care
Description:
Auto-offer based on clinical prescreen.
This position requires a full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered.
Experience must also include either neuro or cardiovascular care.
Dysrhythmia exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance for the position.
Maximum attempts for the exam is 2.
There is also a pass/fail simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation.
These units expect to care for trauma, neuro, and specialty surgical patients.
Patients include those with falls, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, motor vehicle accidents, and other trauma cases.
Administration of titratable drips is required.
Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, and others.
Charge nurses are present but do not take patients.
Registered Nurses are required to interpret their own telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is allowed, but the manager may balance shifts for unit needs.
Weekend requirements are three shifts in a four-week schedule.
May have one holiday off during an assignment.
No additional call or standby shifts are required.
Floating to other telemetry units may be necessary as needed.
Navy scrubs are the designated dress code.
Orientation is typically 1-2 days specific to the unit.
Skills will be validated for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed.
