Description:
This is a float position and may require floating to an inpatient PCU unit.
The primary unit is a boarding unit where patients come from the emergency department and are boarded until discharged or moved to an inpatient unit.
Patients are stable and will be transferred if their condition becomes unstable.
The unit size can fluctuate between a 4-bed unit and an 8-10 bed unit, with staffing adjustments based on acuity and need.
The staffing model can consist of a nurse/certified nursing assistant or nurse/licensed practical nurse depending on the acuity and ratio.
Team nursing is utilized on this unit, with RN and LPN collaboration at times.
The RN needs to be comfortable working with LPNs in team nursing and delegation.
Requires working every other weekend.
Applicants should not be first-time travelers.
Must work two out of three major holidays.
