Experience: Two years current experience in a large emergency department required.
License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
Must-Have: Selected candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test.
Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test.
If candidates fail the test, they will have one opportunity to re-test.
A second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced.
Description:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient and healthcare team.
Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Completes patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing according to unit standards.
Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
Epic experience preferred, but not required; on-site training can be provided.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or the American Red Cross.
Travelers must pass the BCA testing during the first week of the assignment.
Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
