**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Shift:** 12-Hour Day/Night Rotate – 3x12s, rotating first to float, 2 weekends out of every 6, holidays as needed
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years
**License:** Required
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
**Must-Have:**
– RNs need to be able to mix their own medications and assist with respiratory meds/equipment/intubation.
– TNK experience is necessary. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory if strong otherwise.
– RNs must read and interpret their own strips.
**Job Description:**
– The department comprises 6 beds/trauma bays.
– There is no fast-track or separate triage area; travelers will triage patients as required.
– No separate ER holding area, with holds intermixed and most critical patients transferred to higher levels of care.
– There are no separate psych/seclusion rooms, and security is not in-house 24/7. Local police will respond to emergencies.
– The average patient load in the ER ranges from 8-25 patients per day.
– Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on factors such as patient stability; it is 1:4 for stable patients and 1:1 or 1:2 for critically ill patients.
– The patient population is diverse, with cases including acute illness, injuries, chest pain, respiratory distress, neurological issues, allergic reactions, infectious diseases, intoxication, psychiatric emergencies, and various traumas.
– Common drips administered include Insulin, Heparin, Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Propofol.
– A physician or mid-level provider is staffed 24/7, with a second provider from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
– A Coordinator assists with trauma and critical patients.
– Support staff includes a full-time tech from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and a float CNA available from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.
– Respiratory Therapy (RT) is available on-call 24/7 and in-house from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– The Radiology department adjacent to the ER offers X-ray, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, and Ultrasound services.
– RNs can draw blood from IV starts, with assistance from the lab when available.
– Shift times rotate between 7 a.m., 7 p.m., and 7 p.m.-7 a.m., with prioritization for skill set-based floating requirements.
– Nurses may float to the Medical-Surgical unit to assist in certain procedures/codes and support behavioral patients 1:1.
– Scrub Color: Any color scrubs
– The orientation includes 2 days of unit/department-specific training.

**Note:** This is a fast-paced environment and requires a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates. Time-off requests need to be submitted upfront. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.
