Description:
This position is for a registered nurse in the emergency room.
It is a night shift role working three 12-hour shifts.
The average daily census is 30 patients.
There are 40 beds available in the unit.
The patient ratio is 1:4.
Common patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, heart conditions, chest pain, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
There is less trauma, but occasional cases such as motor vehicle accidents and fractures may occur.
Psychiatric patients are also treated in the emergency department.
The unit will require staff to have crisis prevention intervention certification.
The inpatient psychiatric unit is locked, providing additional support for psychiatric cases.
If utilizing AHA for NIH certification, two certifications totaling three hours are needed.
Travelers must float within the facility and be comfortable doing so.
Candidates must be willing to comply with all certification and documentation requirements.
Extensions may be allowed after one contract, with conditions applying.
Travelers should not exceed a total of 7 days of requested time off.
One major holiday off during the winter season is generally permitted.
