Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Multi Trauma

Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Experience: Minimum 2 years

License: Registered Nurse (RN)

Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred

– Ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, suction

Job Description:

– Join a dynamic step-down unit on the 10th floor dedicated to providing high-quality care to trauma patients.
– Work alongside a supportive team with 1 charge nurse and 5 nurses complemented by tech support.
– Handle patient ratios typically estimated at 1:4, with charge nurses exempt from direct patient assignments.
– Use a variety of medical equipment, including vents, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes.
– Utilize the Meditech EMR system for patient management.
– Conduct typical procedures such as placing chest tubes and performing bedside bronchoscopies.
– Thrive in a fast-paced, level 1 trauma center with a complex and interesting patient population.
– Collaborate with motivated nurses, supportive charge nurses, and wonderful physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
