Candidates must have 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience.
Description:
This position is in a 27-bed Emergency Department.
The unit employs approximately 50 registered nurses and 25 medics.
During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2-3 medics, with an increase of 4-5 registered nurses at 11 AM and an additional 1-2 registered nurses at 3 PM.
The night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2-3 medics.
Patient ratios range from 4 to 6 patients per registered nurse.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Candidates with experience in high acuity and fast-paced emergency rooms are preferred.
Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 is also advantageous.
Typical procedures performed include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, care of psych patients, and transfers to other facilities.
The ideal candidate should possess a relaxed, easy-going, friendly disposition and be team-oriented and respectful.
There are no on-call requirements for this position.
Weekend shifts are required, with four weekend shifts in a four-week scheduling period.
