Description:
Seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room RN to circulate Cardiothoracic and Vascular cases.
The position involves supporting two cardiovascular surgeons.
Candidates should have experience in CABGs, robotic and laparoscopic lung surgeries, endoscopic and open vascular cases, carotid endarterectomies, valve replacements, and aneurysm repairs.
Responsibilities include involving patients and significant others in decisions regarding care.
Perform patient handoffs utilizing safety tools.
Maintain effective communication through appropriate utilization of the chain of command.
Communicate subjective and objective data about patients and families with the multidisciplinary team.
Stay updated on unit communications such as huddles and emails.
Complete mandatory nursing competencies and certifications within the required time frame.
Utilize professional literature to implement evidence-based practice.
Maintain relevant knowledge of policies and procedures.
Accept professional accountability to resolve issues related to patient care.
Delegate, guide, and direct unlicensed healthcare providers and LPNs.
Interpret and utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and monitoring data appropriately.
Must be willing to take call or alternate shifts as needed.
Knowledge of Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgical equipment is required.
Proficiency in EPIC charting tools is necessary.
Understand and follow aseptic technique and sterility principles.
