Job Description

Position Overview

  • Title: CVICU RN

  • Experience Required: 2 years CVICU RN experience

  • Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours/week, nights

  • Start Dates: 6/9 or 6/23

  • First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes, if CVICU experienced

  • Local Candidates (within 60 miles): Rate available, check with Account Manager

Certifications Required

  • ACLS

  • BLS

Job Expectations

  • On Call: 4 shifts per 6-week schedule

  • Float Requirement: Yes, to units of equal or lower acuity

  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

  • Will consider 48-hour work week upon request

Required Clinical Skills

  • Management of dysrhythmias

  • Care of post-cardiac surgery patients (not direct from OR)

  • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal

  • Ventilator management

  • Experience with:

    • Pacers (temporary, transvenous)

    • Fresh heart post-ops (POD 1)

    • Admissions and fresh heart care

Preferred Skills

  • Lumbar drain experience

Unit Information

  • Average Census: 1–8 patients

  • Total Staffed Beds: 8

  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue

  • Charting System: Cerner / MedConnect

  • Medication System: Pyxis

  • Communication Style: SBAR / Shift Note
