Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Provide Direct Patient Care: Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients, including those post-cardiac surgery, heart failure, and other cardiovascular conditions.

Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly assess patient vital signs, including heart rhythms, blood pressure, oxygenation levels, and other indicators of cardiovascular status.

Administer Medications & Treatments: Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including IVs, cardiac drugs, and post-operative medications, and monitor for side effects.

Assist with Procedures: Assist cardiologists and surgeons during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary, including catheterization and cardiac surgeries.
Required Qualifications:

Active RN License in Kansas (or compact state).

1+ year of experience in CVICU or equivalent critical care unit.

ACLS Certification and BLS Certification required.

Strong knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, including advanced cardiac life support, mechanical ventilation, and post-operative care.

Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality patient care.

Experience with cardiac monitoring equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, etc.).

Familiarity with EMR systems and charting requirements for patient documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous CVICU experience is strongly preferred.
-
Experience with ECMO or other advanced cardiac interventions.
-
Travel nursing experience preferred.
