Description:
Unit capacity is 6 beds.
Patient population includes those with diagnoses such as cardiac surgery, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and status post cardiopulmonary arrest.
Patients served range from young adults to late adults (ages 18 – 60+).
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.
The core staffing plan includes registered nurses and patient care technicians.
An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
Variable staffing grid is utilized to meet care needs.
