Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Assist customers to exam rooms and obtain vitals while ensuring room is prepped for exam.
  • Assist providers with exams, procedure and treatments.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, which may include but are not limited to: EKG’s, Nebulizers, Peak Flows, O2 Sats, Vision / Hearing Screening, tympanograms, general laboratory and radiology if indicated. Documents results in EMR and communicates to provider.
  • Give injections and other medication as ordered by provider.
  • Schedule customers for referral exams, procedures and treatments as needed.
  • Prepare customer rooms for exams by cleaning, stocking rooms with supplies and equipment.
  • Notify customers of test and procedure results, per provider direction.
  • May be asked to screen customer phone calls, gather and document pertinent information and follow-up per provider direction.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
  • The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
  • The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.  • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
