Description:
This facility has 174 licensed beds and is part of a network providing stroke care.
It serves a patient population with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions related to overflow unit status.
The average patient census is 32.
Patient types and common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, and new onset cardiac arrhythmia.
The unit follows a patient-centered approach with engaged teammates, fostering a collegial and supportive environment.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5.
Support staff includes CNAs for daily living assistance and a centralized telemetry monitoring team available 24/7.
Charge nurses generally work without patient assignments, and resource nurses are available for team support.
Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice based on needs.
Orientation consists of 2 days of departmental training.
Scrubs are navy blue.
