Experience: Minimum 2 years experience required. Will consider MedSurg RN with ICU and PCU patient experience with an additional two years.
License: Must have a valid Indiana or compact nursing license in hand.
Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required.
Must-Have: Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Description:
Charge pay is now being offered, providing an increase in hourly rate.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend as per their contract.
Call-ins for contracted shifts are expected to be made up within the pay period for those working 0.9 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE).
For those unable to make up shifts, the missed shift will be added at the end of the travel contract.
Any call-in shifts for those working 1.2 FTE will also be added to the end of the contract.
Pending operational needs, travelers may be expected to take on unit charge nurse responsibilities with training and resources provided.
Unit assignments typically feature a ratio of 1:4 for PCU patients and 1:5-6 for MedSurg patients.
On occasion, patients may be mixed in assignments, requiring oversight of 4-5 patients.
The unit consists of 32 beds that primarily serve patients with cardiac conditions, including valve replacements and pulmonary disorders.
Effective September 1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers.
Declinations will not be accepted; however, medical or religious exemptions can be considered with proper documentation.
Travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU.
Background checks will be conducted prior to employment.
All travelers must float within their assigned hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals as required.
Orientation will consist of 12 hours, and training modules will be necessary to complete prior to start.
