This position involves working in a high acuity Progressive Care Unit
The unit cares for patients with medical oncology needs.
There are progressive care beds available for pediatric patients, although these cases are rare.

Special equipment in use includes telemetry monitoring systems, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.
The nurse will be required to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity.
Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, as there is no set schedule or guaranteed weekends.
The staffing ratio aims for 1:4-5 for medical/surgical telemetry and 1:3 for Progressive Care Unit patients.
On-the-job orientation includes a one-week day shift training followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
Chemotherapy administration and management of surgical drains, as well as wound care, are preferred skills.

Professional growth and flexible scheduling opportunities are offered.
A comprehensive benefits package is available to support the nurse’s career.
