**Job Title:** Progressive Care Nurse **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU) **Job Duration:** Full Time **Shift:** All Shifts Available **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 1 year in Advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care or Progressive Care Nursing required **License:** Current State RN Licensure **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, PALS (required or obtained within 6 months of hire); EPNC, TNCC (preferred) **Must-Have:** – Competence in operating advanced medical equipment – Ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision – Ability to give direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, and Dietary Staff – Advanced knowledge of Nursing Principles and Procedures **Job Description:** – Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on the medical/surgical unit – Offer physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients – Manage multiple patient populations including pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, and various surgical services – Operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and short-term ventilation support – Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes – Maintain the standard of professional nursing while interacting with patients and significant others – Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff – Provide direct care for patients from admission to discharge, including discharge planning – Receive direction from Providers, Charge Nurse, and Chief Nursing Officer – Utilize basic office equipment and advanced cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation skills – Pediatric experience is preferred but not required Please ensure all certifications and licenses are up to date and comply with the relevant state regulations.
