Description:
General job duties include administration of medication.
Procedures required include NG tube placement, foley placement and care, wound care, ostomy care, and blood product administration.
The specialized patient population includes general medical/surgical patients, postpartum patients, mastectomy, and hysterectomy.
Equipment utilized in the unit includes Electronic Medical Record systems, overhead equipment for patient movement, and vital machines.
Shifts are from 1900 to 0730 with weekends and holidays required.
Call is not required for this position.
The employee will not work alone.
Floating to other units/ departments may include medical/surgical floors where needs arise.
The unit has 18 beds in private settings.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
Orientation and training include BLS and ACLS.
This is a drug-free environment, and candidates must produce a negative drug screen.
