Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele experience required
License: Registered Nurse License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, and drain/tube management. Ability to manage cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF.
Job Description:
– Work in a facility with 457 licensed beds which includes a Trauma Level III and is a Teaching Hospital.
– Join a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.
– Provide care in a 23-bed unit with an average daily census of 21 patients.
– Be part of a great team environment with a supportive department culture, including unit-focused book clubs and Netflix watching clubs.
– Patient types include those with chest pain, rule out stroke, syncope, dizziness, respiratory illness, and a variety of other diagnoses.
– Collaborate with supervisors, free-floating charge RNs, and hospitalists, with support from an IV/VAT team and phlebotomy efforts shared between RNs.
– Utilize EPIC for EMR, Alaris for IV Pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing.
– Required to float within region and scope of practice as needed, across multiple facilities.
– Participate in a two-day orientation program covering facility and departmental procedures.
– Wear navy blue scrubs.
Note: Preference is given to candidates with prior traveling experience, but first-time travelers will be considered.
