**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, including 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Saturday/Sunday); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years
**License:** Required
**Certifications:**
– Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
– Basic Life Support (BLS)
– National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
**Must-Have:**
– Ability to titrate cardiac drips
– Pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (with a maximum of 2 attempts)
**Job Description:**
– Float between all telemetry and medical-surgical units, with potential to float to ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, and various holding areas
– Required to float between campuses, with prior notification provided 1.5 hours before shift start
– Mid-shift floating between units is possible; rare to float between campuses during a single shift
– Centralized telemetry, with responsibility for EKG interpretation
– No use of vents; hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night
– 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
– 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7, with floor-specific orientation for 2 days
– Various units covered:
– **CV Telemetry:** 32-bed unit; post-cath lab, vascular procedures, and general telemetry patients; administer and titrate medications such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Dobutamine
– **Neuro Telemetry:** 28-bed unit; neuro post-surgical, post-cranis, spine, and CVA post-TPA patients; no ICP monitoring
– **Medical-Surgical C5 & B2C:** 32-bed and 29-bed units respectively, specializing in ortho, surgical, oncology, and general medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry; use GE Monitors
– Charge Nurse available with no patient assignment; clinical supervisor in a management role
– Patient Care Techs provided to assist nurses, with specific ratios per unit
– Wear navy scrubs for all units
– Cancellation policy allows hospital to cancel up to 3 times per contract
**Note:** Applicants will participate in a pass/fail Sim Lab on the first day of orientation. Study guides will be provided with first-day instructions.
