Must-Have:
– Labor management
– Circulate cesarean sections
– Pre-op and PACU experience
– Triage skills
– Resuscitation of newborns
– Pitocin and epidural management

Description:
The facility is licensed for 457 beds.
It is a Level 3 Trauma center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.
It is also recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence and a Chest Pain Center.

The unit has 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms.
The average daily census is 9-10 patients.

Patient types include high-risk antepartum, labor, and immediate postpartum.
The nurse-to-patient ratio for laboring patients is 1:1-2.

Support within the department includes a charge nurse available 24/7, professional phlebotomy in-house, and a dedicated IV/VAT team.
Respiratory therapy and hospitalists are also available 24/7.
OB physicians and anesthesia/CRNA teams are on-site, alongside telemetry monitoring at both bedside and the nurses’ station.

The technology and equipment used in the unit include an EMR system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and unit-specific equipment.

Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice based on departmental needs.
Travelers will receive compensation for time spent traveling between facilities if floating occurs mid-shift.

Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays.
Up to 6 days off can be approved, but these must be added to the end of the contract if the contracted hours are not met.
