Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum years of experience required: 2 years in CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred
License: VA or Compact License required in hand at the time of submission
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required via American Heart Association; NIHSS required
Must-Have:
Arterial line management
Blood product administration
Central line care/management
PICC line management
Starting IVs
Continuous IV sedation
Procedural sedation administration
Titration of cardiac drips
Titration of vasoactive drips
Strong neuro experience required (post brain surgery, EVD experience, ventriculostomy)
FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Multi-system organ failure experience
CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) experience
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump experience
Impella experience
Post cardiac surgery care
Pre/post cardiac catheterization/intervention care
Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
IV insulin protocols
CVVHD/CRRT experience
CVA/Acute Stroke management
Assistance with management of BiPAP and CPAP
Care of ventilated patients
High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) care
Interpretation of ABGs
Suctioning (ETT, NT)
Ventilator management
Infection prevention
Isolation precautions/use of PPE
Surgical wounds with drains/wound vac experience
Description:
The role involves caring for cardiac patients in the intensive care setting.
Candidates will be responsible for step-down patients as well, as the universal bed model is utilized.
The position requires working night shifts, including weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays within the contract.
He or she will manage a variety of complex cardiac and post-operative conditions.
Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential for this position.
Unit information includes post-operative CABG adult patients, acute coronary conditions, and a focus on critical care delivery in an ICU setting.
Candidates should expect a high patient-to-nurse ratio with a commitment to providing exceptional care.
Expertise in EPIC is a requirement.
Knowledge of thermoregulation, chronic and acute renal failure management, and accessing ports is preferred.
