Description:
The unit focuses on continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration.
Patients primarily have soft tissue malignancies requiring diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management.
There will be a heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall management.
The role involves managing comorbidities and providing symptom management secondary to disease-related treatment or progression.
Special equipment includes B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.
Skills required include the interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, and interpretation of ABGs.
High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) skills are also necessary.
Flexibility in scheduling is required, as there may be no set schedule, weekends, or block scheduling.
Candidates should be aware of the urgency of the fingerprinting process that must be completed promptly after signing the contract.
Professional references are required, with one coming from a manager or someone in a formal leadership capacity.
