Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the MICU.
The focus will be on adult and geriatric patient care.
Common diagnoses in this unit include oncologic emergencies, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), gastrointestinal bleed, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, consequences of oncologic treatment, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis.
Common treatments for hemodynamically compromised patients include mechanical ventilation, pulmonary artery catheter placement, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tube insertion, central venous catheter placement, chemotherapy administration, complex medication regimens, participation in clinical trials, and plasmapheresis.
Many patients may have underlying pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy.
Candidates will need to meet fingerprinting and credentialing requirements promptly upon signing the contract.
Two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor.
Coworker references are not accepted.
Education must be from an accredited program.
