Description:
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care.
The clinical environment is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders.
RN competencies are supported by Professional Practice Models and evidence-based practices.
It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by professional associations and standards.
The RN practices using current clinical practice standards.
They coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
The role requires effective interdisciplinary communication and the promotion of a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
The RN participates and supports performance improvement and research to promote safe, quality patient care.
Professional development and initiative are encouraged, including ongoing education and serving as a preceptor or mentor for others.
The RN promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
They comply with all organizational policies and procedures and meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
The RN actively plans for patient care across the continuum.
They participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
The RN supports efficient and effective use of resources.
Performs other duties as assigned, maintaining compliance with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
