Must-Have:
– Required Med/Surg experience
– Ability to start IVs
– Experience with nasal cannula
Description:
Charge coverage may be required based on operational needs.
Unit charge nurse responsibilities will be needed with provided training and resources.
Candidates must be willing to perform charge nurse duties when necessary.
Orientation will include 12 hours of training.
The unit is medical surgical and directly adjacent to the emergency department.
Patients are held overnight for continued workup as observation patients.
Patient diagnoses include COVID, abdominal pain, respiratory distress, and other symptom-based conditions requiring further workup.
Candidates must float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.
Every other weekend work is required.
Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Local residents are not accepted for this position.
Medical and religious exemptions are allowed for the flu vaccine.
References from supervisors are required.
Candidates must have competency in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
CERNER experience is a requirement.
Floating may be necessary to ensure proper staffing across units.
Modules will be non-billable and are completed prior to the start date.
