Description:
This position involves caring for patients in a critical care environment.
The nurse-patient ratio is 2 to 3 patients per nurse.
Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and general surgery cases.
The unit consists of 16 beds.
Charting will be done using an electronic medical record system.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Travelers will float to various intensive care units, but will not manage patients requiring specialized care.
Special procedures may include continuous renal replacement therapy, hypothermia protocol, balloon pump management, and Impella placement.
Weekend work is required every other weekend.
