– Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Description:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team.
Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
This is a stepdown unit with ventilator management, sedation drips, and cardiac drips.
There is a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in a 12-bed unit.
The patient population consists of more medical patients than surgical patients, with a pulmonary team assigned to them.
