Description:
This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
The contract duration is 8 weeks.
The shift is nights, working 3×12-hour shifts.
Every other weekend and holiday are required.
The average daily census is 30 patients, with a capacity of 40 beds.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.
Common patient diagnoses include respiratory issues, heart conditions, chest pain, myocardial infarction (MI), ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (non-STEMI), post-operative surgical patients, and strokes.
There is less emphasis on trauma cases, though motor vehicle accidents and fractures may occur.
A trauma center is located 10 minutes away.
Psychiatric patients are also seen in the emergency department, with the possibility of 6 psychiatric patients among the 40 total patients.
It is essential that the staff holds a CPI certification.
An inpatient psychiatric unit is located within the facility, which may influence patient flow in the emergency department.
All certifications must be from approved organizations.
Travelers will need to complete required labs within 72 hours of signing.
Return travelers must be away for at least 6 months.
Travelers are subject to float requirements within the facility.
Candidates should be comfortable floating without restrictions.
Extensions may be possible, but typically only one extension is allowed.
