Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, PALS required or within 90 days of employment; TNCC and ENPC preferred
Description:
Responsible for the delivery of care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Utilizes the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, as evidenced by client and staff observation.
Teaches patients and significant others appropriate health information in a timely manner and shares written informational material.
Performs direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
Assists patients, family members, or other clients with concern and empathy; respects their confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
Assists in the orientation and training of new employees.
Helps other staff members in the performance of their assignments.
Recognizes the need for variations in staffing and volunteers to fill open shifts.
Takes direction and initiates actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
Demonstrates sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
Treats all information and data with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
