Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification required.

Must-Have:
Community Hospital experience preferred.
Cerner experience preferred.
Float within scope to meet facility needs.

Description:
Position specializes in Labor and Delivery/OB nursing.
The nurse will work in an 18-bed unit.
Experience in high-risk antepartum care, facility births per month, and LDRP is essential.
The nurse must be skilled in prenatal, labor, and postpartum care.
The following skills are required:
– Assist with sterile speculum exam, NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exam.
– Triage obstetrical patients.
– Use external fetal monitoring.
– Administer blood and blood products.
– Start and maintain peripheral IVs.
– Administer medications including antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate therapy.
– Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries.
– Circulate for C-sections and recover C-sections.
– Care for neonates in the delivery room.
– Perform APGAR assessments, thermoregulation, and newborn identification.
– Provide postpartum care, including episiotomy care and management of postpartum hemorrhage.
– Understand pain management techniques, including epidural anesthesia.
– Comply with isolation precautions and vaccine administration guidelines.
