Description:
Primarily responsible for applying the nursing process to the care of patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
This includes, but is not limited to, assuring that appropriate documentation reflects assessment of patient needs, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical intervention, and evaluation of patients’ responses to treatments.
Also responsible for assigning and evaluating the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
