Description:
This position involves providing professional nursing care services to patients admitted, transferred, and discharged from the facility.
The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients.
The RN will demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient care for ages 16 through adult.
Registered Nurses are licensed professionals empowered to participate in an interdisciplinary approach to meet the expectations of the patients served.
Work includes utilizing Epic electronic medical records.
All Registered Nurses must be competent in general medical nursing.
The shift will require work on alternating weekends and every other holiday.
The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4-5.
Candidates should expect to float to other departments as needed.
Dress code prohibits childish scrub characters since this is an adult unit.
Unit orientation includes Epic training and up to two shifts with a unit preceptor.
Interpersonal skills are essential to comfort patients and effectively communicate with other patient care providers.
Analytical abilities to assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients are required, along with developing individual patient care plans.
Orientation will cover department policies, procedures, and work routines to develop proficiency in medical equipment used on the unit.
The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
Quality assurance standards, as well as effective nursing interventions, will be part of the training.
Candidates must be prepared to produce a negative drug screen for all panels.
