Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: RN
Specialty: Operating Room
Duration: 14 weeks
Shift: 8 or 10 hour shifts
Hours per Shift: 40 hours guaranteed
Experience: Minimum two years current experience required in a large operating room.
License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License
Certifications: BLS required; PALS preferred; ACLS preferred
Must-Have:
– Ability to scrub
– Team player with flexibility
– Experience in a fast-paced environment
– Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
Description:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient and healthcare team.
Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
Epic experience preferred, but not required; training can be provided on-site.
Experience in orthopedic, EENT, and/or vascular procedures is a plus.
