Job Title: Travel In-Patient Registered Nurse

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing preferred
Description:
We are seeking an experienced travel In-Patient Registered Nurse for a Medical unit for a 13-week day shift assignment.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, quick-thinking, and able to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
You will be providing compassionate and efficient care to a diverse patient population alongside a supportive clinical team.
The Inpatient Clinical Nurse possesses the ability to objectively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care as a licensed Registered Nurse.
You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary medical team focused on providing patient-centered care.
This includes the identification of psycho-social needs, continuity of care related to disease prevention and chronic disease management, and providing patient education to promote health literacy.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Demonstrate the core mission, vision, and values.
Function as the primary care nurse and assume responsibility for charge nurse duties to provide optimal quality of patient care.
Complete comprehensive initial admission assessments.
Create Nursing Care plans based on identified or remarkable initial objective assessments.
Provide interventions as ordered by the Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant.
Evaluate patient response to interventions and promptly notify the medical provider of patient condition whenever necessary.
Obtain specimen collections.
Generate consults to appropriate disciplines based on initial admission assessment findings.
Assist with discharge planning.
Provide patient disease-preventable vaccines before discharge.
Provide discharge instructions related to disease processes, home management, and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.
Demonstrate the ability to float to areas of need to meet patient demand and assist with emergency response preparedness operations.
Make decisions in matters of significance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Normal to heavy work, including the ability to lift up to 20-50 lbs.
Lifting and/or transferring of patients may involve heavy lifting.
Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office or medical equipment.
Manual dexterity with a full range of motion of all extremities is required.
Fine motor skills are necessary.
Mental Requirements:
Reading, writing, and calculating skills.
Above average social interaction skills.
Reasoning and analytical skills.
Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
Language Requirements:
Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Ability to effectively employ professional verbal and written communication skills.
