Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
License: Registered Nurse License in state of employment or compact
Certifications:
– Basic Life Support (BLS) required from the American Heart Association
– Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required from the American Heart Association
– Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required from the American Heart Association
– Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required

Must-Have:
– Ability to float if needed, though it is highly unlikely based on census and acuity
– On-call requirement: Must be available for two on-call shifts per six-week schedule

Job Description:

– Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the applicable nursing standards of practice.
– Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, in accordance with the level of practice.
– Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
– Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
– Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
– Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
– Continue to develop the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing and work on long-range goals or plans.
