**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 12-hour nights, including 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks and working 2 out of 3 major holidays

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years

**License:** Required

**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS (CCRN preferred)

**Must-Have:** Level I Trauma Experience, strong IV skills, and SIMs Lab proficiency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes

**Job Description:**

– Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with a 24-bed capacity.
– Monitor cardiac surgery recovery patients and those with complex conditions such as Empallas, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, Ecmo, and more.
– Maintain a patient ratio of 1:1-2, with a high number of 1:1 cases.
– Utilize the Cerner electronic medical records system for documentation.
– Collaborate with day-time intensivist; be prepared for on-call support during nights.
– Assist in bedside procedures including bronchoscopy, Swans, and epidurals.
– Complete a floor-specific orientation of 2 days.
– Be prepared to float to other ICUs and all Tele units as needed, with a typical patient ratio of 4:1 on Tele units.
– Participate in educational activities such as lifts, restraints, and wound care to understand equipment and policies.
– Support team with strong collaboration skills and adaptability to high-acuity situations.
– Adhere to hospital policies, including a cancellation limit of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
– Follow navy scrub color code and utilize Philips telemetry systems.
– Engage with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support.
– Coordinate with charge nurses and work alongside 2 Patient Care Technicians during high census periods.
– Prepare to rotate weekend and holiday shifts as part of team scheduling.
