Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar setting
License: Must have an in-state license or compact license in hand for start dates 2-4 weeks out; for start dates 4+ weeks out, licensing process must be initiated.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of PCU experience, ability to work in a team nursing model, and comfort working with LPNs in a team nursing and delegation setting.
Job Description:
– This position is for an acuity adaptable/boarding float nurse in a stepdown/PCU setting where patients are received from the emergency department and board until discharge or transfer.
– Work collaboratively in a team nursing model with RN/LPN depending on patient acuity and staffing needs.
– Be adaptable to float to an inpatient PCU unit if there are no patients in the assigned unit.
– Maintain professional growth and development to stay updated on current practices within the nursing field.
– Provide patient-centered care while prioritizing patient safety and stability, ensuring patients are moved out if they become unstable.
– Willingness to work at least two out of three major holidays.
– Understand that this is a float position and floating is required across different hospital units or affiliate hospitals nearby.
– Participate in non-billable modules averaging 4-6 hours, completed pre-start.
– Complete an orientation period consisting of 12 hours.
