Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit – Coronary Care Experience
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3×12 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 per week
Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required from AHA or ARC
Must-Have: Coronary Care experience
Job Description:
– Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director.
– Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
– Participates in identifying and meeting personal learning needs.
– Attends education programs based on identified learning requirements.
– Uses patient education materials relevant to the population with assistance and assesses the readiness of patients, families, and caregivers to learn.
– Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revising the plan of care.
– Engages in discussions with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate patient care.
– Communicates relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
– Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
– Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans and utilizes healthcare organization standards in delivery of care.
– Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs and consults timely with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues.
– Assesses discharge needs of patients and families and develops relationships to promote advocacy.
– Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update the plan of care and identifies cultural and ethnic issues in planning.
– Shows ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems and engages with multidisciplinary resources in planning care.
– Reads journals containing studies related to practice and discusses applicability with staff.
– Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment and participates in cost-effective care.
– Develops goals to promote professional growth and participates in performance improvement activities.
