Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day 3×12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30); Night 3×12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30)

Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Experience: 2 years in telemetry, vents, high acuity unit required; 1 prior travel assignment completed (first-time travelers will be screened)

License: DC RN Licensure (pending DC license accepted but must have license prior to start date)

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Must-Have:
– Telemetry and high acuity unit experience
– Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
– Willingness to work holidays and weekends as required
– Two supervisory references

Job Description:
– Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within a short-term acute care, teaching hospital known to be among the top heart and vascular centers.
– Manage a patient ratio of 1:2.
– Complete orientation comprising 28 hours at 50% non-billable rate.
– Handle electronic charting using Cerner software.
– Comply with mandatory flu vaccination policy as the facility requires employees to have the flu vaccination (no exemptions allowed).
– Required to complete modules, which are billable up to 4 hours; any additional hours for modules are non-billable, averaging 12 hours on modules. Modules are to be completed before the start and possibly during orientation.

Note: The position does not require call duties but includes weekend rotation and holiday coverage. Floating to other units of similar or lower acuity may be required. Completion of required modules and orientation is expected.
