**Experience:** Minimum 2 Years (Challenging and busy unit, must have similar experience with ratios/acuity)
**License:** NC or Compact License (Pending OK for submission; required in hand at time of start)
**Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, NIH
**Must-Have:**
– IV Start and Telemetry experience
– Pre and post-procedure cardiac care
– Experience with cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone)
– Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and patient turnover
– Ability to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospital
**Job Description:**
– Target Patient Ratios are 1:5-6 but may fluctuate based on unit needs. Travelers must be comfortable handling up to 6 patients.
– Work schedule flexibility: 36 hours for Friday, Saturday, Sunday or 48 hours for Thursday through Sunday.
– Expect a fast-paced unit with frequent patient turnover; additional support provided by a team lead for admissions and discharges.
– Responsibilities include stable pre/post-care for pacemaker implantation, cardiac catheterization, and other cardiac interventions.
– Handle post uncomplicated interventional peripheral vascular procedures.
– Manage patients with stable O2 saturation using non-rebreather masks.
– Run multiple drips and manage care for cardiac and stroke patients.
– Be familiar with telemetry, pulse ox equipment, and high flow oxygen systems.
– Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
– Ability to self-schedule per guidelines with leadership oversight.
– Maintain compliance with black-out dates for holidays.
– Adhere to the fatigue policy—no more than 5 consecutive workdays or 60 hours a week.
– Wear navy blue or white scrubs, or a combination, with matching jackets.
– Complete required orientation and modules prior to start.
